Level 1 Access Award in Bookkeeping

With this qualification there’s no need for any prior accounting knowledge. This qualification will give you a solid background in single entry bookkeeping.

This is a basic entry-level qualification and can provide a solid grounding for students with no previous bookkeeping knowledge or experience, before moving on to the foundation-level qualifications.

Level 1 Access Award in Business Skills

This qualification is perfect for young people and those taking their first step on the career ladder. As well as covering the basic accounting techniques and principles you’ll gain a broader understanding of the business environment and how to prepare for entering the world of work.  

AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping

Studying this qualification helps students to develop a strong foundation of bookkeeping knowledge and skills needed to work in accountancy and finance or to go on to study higher-level bookkeeping or accountancy. Students completing this qualification will be able to confidently carry out typical bookkeeping transactions and tasks. This qualification is suitable for those already working in finance, those returning to work after a break or those wishing to change career. The qualification is open to those who are working and those who are not currently in employment.

AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting

A student completing this qualification will develop accountancy skills in double-entry bookkeeping and basic costing, as well as an understanding of purchase, sales and general ledgers. Students will learn to use accounting software and to develop the professional skills and behaviours needed to contribute effectively in the workplace. Working in accountancy requires good communication skills, IT skills and an understanding of the business environment, all of which are covered by this qualification.
