For many people the idea of revisiting Maths or English qualification can be daunting so we are here to take some of the stress and strain away from Functional Skills training. We offer programmes to suit you as an individual, meet your goals in a structured yet manageable program. We aim to get you through your qualification level within a 3 month period. For those of you who are lucky to find 5 minutes between caring for lively children or having work commitments to adhere to or for those of you who find that life simply gets in the way we are always happy to discuss time frames to suit your availability.
Don’t want to wait until the end of term to sit your exam? Don’t have time to attend classes? Have an erratic schedule? Can’t get childcare? Got a deadline to get your uni application in but still haven’t got that pesky certificate evidence?

Functional Skills Maths

Functional Skills Mathematics, Entry Level 3, Levels 1 & 2, aims to ensure that each individual is able to solve problems in real-life, functional contexts and develop skills in representing situations using mathematics, analysing calculations and solving problems, interpreting the mathematics to explain situations. For each level, realistic contexts have been designed so that learners develop the functional skills they need. Candidates must pass the assessment at their chosen level in order to achieve the award for Functional Skills Mathematics.

Functional Skills English
Functional Skills English Entry Level 3, Levels 1 & 2, aim to ensure that each individual is able to use language in real-life, functional contexts and develop skills in responding to different situations using English. For each level, realistic contexts have been designed so that learners develop the functional skills they need. These courses will help you to use English effectively in everyday life, learning and work. They will improve your chances of finding work, increase your career prospects and prepare you for further study. Candidates must pass the assessments at their chosen level in order to achieve the award for Functional Skills English.
